Digital Technologies for Social Inclusion -DT4SI – When Digital Skills Become a Pathway to Social Inclusion

From 20 to 29 October 2025, Hajia Adiza France had the privilege of coordinating the Erasmus+ youth exchange DT4SI – Digital Technologies for Social Inclusion, bringing together 30 young people from France, Germany and Türkiyefor a 10-day learning experience in Paris. Supported by KA152 – Mobility of Young People, the project aimed to equip young people especially those with fewer opportunities with digital, social and civic skills to foster inclusion and employability in an increasingly digital society.

Why This Project? Addressing a Growing Social NeedAccording to Eurostat (2024), nearly 3 million young people in Europe are unemployed. Beyond economic barriers, many face a digital divide that limits access to job opportunities, networking, visibility and self-development.DT4SI was born out of this realityand from a core belief:
digital inclusion is not only about technology; it is also about dignity, self-confidence, representation and equal access to opportunities.

Our Educational Approach: Human-Centred, Creative and Non-FormalGrounded in the principles of non-formal education, the programme encouraged experiential learning, peer support, intercultural dialogue and active participation. Throughout the exchange, participants engaged in sessions to develop:

Digital Skills:Creating a video CV, basic editing and responsible online contentUsing LinkedIn and social media for professional networkingProtecting digital identity and recognising misinformation

Social & Civic Skills:Workshops on inclusion, equality and anti-discriminationIntercultural evenings and dialogue spacesJob interview simulations, teamwork and communication exercises

Entrepreneurship & Employability:Testimony of a local entrepreneur, Kongolo Kyungumbayi (CEO, K Intensive Training Club)Meeting with audiovisual expert Iniaki Calinaud from Centre Audiovisuel Le LOMA Exploring emerging careers and digital labour market trendsThis approach encouraged young participants to take ownership of their learning journey, develop initiative and recognise their role in fostering inclusive communities.

A Creative and Meaningful Output: A Film for InclusionAt the heart of the project was the creation of a collective short film on social inclusion.
Writing the script, filming and editing empowered the group to transform personal experiences, discrimination, discouragement or lack of self-believe into art, awareness-raising messages and spaces for healing.Art became a powerful tool for youth empowerment, especially for participants lacking confidence or visibility in traditional learning settings.

Impact: What Young Participants Take AwayAt the closing of the exchange, participants expressed meaningful transformation:

*Increased self-confidence and public-speaking skills

*Stronger intercultural awareness and European identity

*Practical digital competences they can directly reuse

*Motivation to engage locally for more inclusion

Our PartnersThis project was made possible through a strong European partnership:

🇫🇷 Hajia Adiza France – Coordination & intercultural learning approach

🇩🇪 AGIC – African German Information Center – Inclusion & migration expertise

🇹🇷 X2Learn – Youth engagement & digital creativityThe diversity of partners enriched the exchange and offered a European perspective on active citizenship, inclusion and empowerment.

What Comes Next?

DT4SI does not end in France.

Participants are now becoming ambassadors of digital inclusion in their communities. The short film, video CVs and testimonials will be shared in youth centres, local associations and European events to inspire more young people to take action.

DT4SI demonstrated that when we combine technology, humanity and non-formal education, we achieve more than skill-building:
we create bridges, spark inspiration, shape identities, empower voices and open new life paths.Because inclusion begins with one opportunity and Erasmus+ is one that truly changes lives.
